Ordinary people - Amazing things!

COMMUNITY SERVICES
Lions of Maidenhead offer support to local residents facing some financial hardship who are referred to us by professional organisations such as Adults and Children’s Social Services, CAEB and local charities. This usually takes the form of domestic items, but we will consider all requests with just a few exceptions. Decisions are made by a small committee of Lions members. This scheme has been available for many years, and in 2025, we made donations totalling almost £6000
YOUTH AWARD
For many years, we have offered a Youth Award to residents under the age of 25 who are taking part or wish to take part in an educational scheme – this could be Scouts and Guides, Duke of Edinburgh Award or an educational trip organised by school or college. Applications should be made by the group leader, but can be for more than one individual.

COMMUNITY FUND
This new scheme has been running for some months now and is aimed at groups, charities and organisations offering support, activities and services for local residents of all ages. We have made donations to a school to replace a broken cooker in their nursery; specialised sports equipment for another local school; Maidenhead Macular Support Group; Elizabeth House in Cookham; and Maidenhead Men in Sheds.
To date we have made donations totalling over £5000 and have more requests we are considering. If you are part of a group or know of one that may be eligible for an award, please contact us.
