Primary School Stars Shine Bright at Highly Successful Talent Show!

 

The second annual Maidenhead School Talent Show, organised by The Maidenhead Lions Club, was a roaring success! Held on Saturday, 22nd November 2025 at Furze Platt Theatre, the event brought together children from five local schools: Cookham Dean C of E Primary, Knowl Hill C of E Academy, Bisham C of E Academy, Oldfield Primary and Wessex Primary. The atmosphere was electric as young performers showcased their skills in singing, dancing, gymnastics, and even magic tricks. Their creativity and passion captivated the audience from start to finish.

The judging panel featured local paralympian Jeanette Chippington OBE, Maidenhead Lions Youth Officer Carol Pearce, and Website Manager Ayo Oyewusi. With so many impressive acts, choosing winners was no easy task.

 

During a special interval performance by last year’s standout magician Shaurya Arora, scores were tallied. Cookham Dean C of E was awarded first place and Wessex Primary second place. All of the children enjoyed receiving certificates and gold medals handed out by Jeanette.

  

Event lead Romilly Hryczanek shared:

“All of the hard work organising the second Maidenhead Lions’ Talent Show was made worth it when I saw the happy faces of the 18 children who took part. I was amazed by the variety and quality of talent our local primary school children possess.”

​

Romilly also expressed gratitude to The Shanly Foundation for funding, which kept ticket costs low and included free refreshments. Thanks were extended to Furze Platt Theatre for reduced hire rates and to The Handmade Cake Company and Cook for supplying delicious cakes.

​

The event was a true celebration of the diverse talents and abilities of the children in our community. The joy and excitement were palpable and a testament to the incredible talents of the children from schools in Maidenhead.
