We continued the tradition of giving 12 Christmas gift bags for inpatients and those receiving treatment over the Christmas period. They each contain puzzle books, colouring books, chocs, toiletries, pencils, etc. (toiletry bags, glasses cases and small purses made by Lions Mary Sanerkin who donates both the items and her time to hand-make them.)
vouchers for 16 children for Christmas gifts
A new addition to the list – This year we made up 29 shoeboxes for teenage boys (an often forgotten category) containing socks, woollen hats, toiletries and treats. These were delivered to Cox Green Community Centre for distribution by the Food Bank, packed and wrapped by a team of Lions.
We received a generous donation of £1000 from Hedsor Events

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Dear Maidenhead Lions,
I hasten to write to you with a very big thank you for giving me a gift card! And to thank the young couple who delivered it today Sunday (15/12/24) in person - I was so surprised! To let you know it will make a big difference to my finances: And I have transferred the same amount of money to the heating account, the cost of which has rocketed Thank you again, Sincerely
" Today my children and I received a wonderful surprise from your organisation. I am writing to say thank you so very much for making our day and our Christmas! It was the loveliest thing that could have happened for us and I am very grateful. We are all still buzzing from it and ‘googling’ your organisation because we didn’t know who you were. Again thank you and Merry Christmas to everyone at Maidenhead Lions."
